What is your training style:I believe in trying to help a client attain and maintain strength, flexibility, mobility, balance and stamina, all with an emphasis on a process that will serve him or her throughout a lifetime.. I tailor each program to the individual client's needs and goals. I try to educate clients by providing appropriate information and a good example. I strive to be patient while encouraging the client to strive for improvement.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:I have a particular facility for observing a body in motion, ascertaining where a difficulty might lie and coming up with ways to address limitations or problems. I am patient. I never take my clients' "failures" personally, and i encourage them not to either. I am interested not only in the specifics of training but in the peripheral areas such as nutrition and stress reduction and try to educate myself as much as possible.
In general, please describe your experience:I have a background in dance and martial arts (Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Tae Kwon Do) giving me an awareness of how bodies work in motion. I have worked with all adult ages, from 16 to 101. I taught ballet for 5 years. I have taught Kung Fu and Tai Chi for 8 to 10 years. I have been taking classes and working out in gyms for 10+ years. I have taught Tai Chi at the YMCA for 4 years. I also taught at Vanderbilt's Health Plus. I have several private and semi-private conditioning and Tai chi students.
