What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:It drives me crazy when I watch people hop on machines and have NO clue as to what they are doing or how to properly position themselves on the machine. I see older adults get on gym machines that their posturally challenged body simply won't fit in and end up getting hurt. As a trainer that specializes in older adults, I do my best to educate individuals that machines may NOT be the best method of strength training for them.
Have you done any volunteer work:Yes, before I was married with kids, I was a volunteer strength coach for disabled athletes in Dallas Texas. I loved it and found it very rewarding. Now that I am married with kids, I limit my volunteer time. I am instrumental in an osteoporosis support group in Davie Fl and am very involved in my Temple serving on several committees. I offer community lectures to various organizations and participate in several health fairs throughout the year with either classes, seminars to lectures.
In general, please describe your experience:I am creator/instructor of “Fortify Your Frame”; a small group supervised and educational exercise class specifically designed for the older adult. As an experienced PTA and Personal Trainer, I bring a comprehensive and unique understanding of the aging adults and offers safe and effective programs that will functionally strengthen the whole body to encourage and increased level of abilities. With over 17 years experience, I can offer anyone with any level of ability improved functionality.
