Why have you become a trainer:Being a Physician Assistant since 1986, I have always wanted another avenue to expand my knowledge of preventative medicine. Personal fitness training, pre-rehab as well as post-rehab was the perfect niche for me. majority of the clients I work with are in the category of special population. I work with clients who have ALS. MS, polymyocitis, stentotic spinal cords, post CVA with balance problems and many other unusual medical conditions.
Have you done any volunteer work:Yes, I volunteer 30 contact hours per year working at local physical therapy and rehab centers.I do this every year to expand upon my current rehabilitation skills. Although I have been trained to work with clients who have had total knee prosthetics, hip resurfacing and ankle orthodesis, I really enjoy working with spinal anomalies and neuromuscular and organic brain situations that affect balance and motor skills.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:I am a seasoned well trained medical professional. My field of expertise is neurology and ophthalmology. It is a well know fact that the eyes are the windows to your body;'s intrinsic health. Therefore in order to work in these two sub specialties you must have a comprehensive level of knowledge of internal medicine. I can create a fitness program that can help ameliorate hypertension, high blood sugars, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease and a host of many other medical conditions
