Why have you become a trainer:I personally enjoy training so much that I want to share that same experience with others so that they might benefit themselves. Many people don't realize how much hard work goes into feeling and looking great and so I feel that I can help others realize this. I believe that one should lead by example. Because I choose to lead by exemplifying what it takes to teach others, I truly believe that I can help people realize their own fitness potential.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:Too many people quit before they see the results. They look at somebody like me and do not realize that I was once in worse shape than they were. If only they would give themselves a chance and really believe in themselves, then I think most people would figure out that they too can be just as fit, if not more, than me. The biggest barrier for most people is the mental conditioning that they've had for years that things come easily.
Do you think a personal trainer should be also a good salesman:Absolutely. This business is about selling the benefits of being healthy. Because there are many barriers to achieving this for so many people, you have to sell them on the belief that they can indeed overcome their own mental biases. In essence, you are selling the cynic in most people and reversing their self defeating attitudes that hold them back. In order to get people out of these deeply set beliefs, personal trainers have to "sell" them on believing in themselves.
