What is your training style:My main goal as a trainer is to increase the quality of life for my clients. This goes way beyond weight loss, or getting a wash board stomach. I believe that through physical activity we can increase not only our physical abilities, but also our mental power and our emotional well being. I want my clients to come away from sessions feeling challenged, but also more confident about themselves, and more knowledgeable about their own body.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake people make when working out is not getting educated about it. Most people hit the gym, and play the "copy cat" game, just doing what everyone else is doing without regard to correct form or their own individual needs. I believe in not just training my clients, but telling them why we are doing what we are doing. This way, they are getting maximum benifits from my training programs.
In general, please describe your experience:I spent three years at the University of California, Santa Barbara doing a minor program in Fitness Instruction. I emphasized in both personal training and group fitness instruction. Upon completion of the minor I was awarded the Minor of the Year award from the Exercise and Sport Studies Department. I am currently an instructor for a wellness program that deals with primarily beginning exercisers, which is one of my passions. I have the most experience orking with women (of any fitness level!)
