What is your training style:I incorporate many different styles of training based upon a clients needs and preferences, but I particularly try to blend cardiovascular training with strength or muscular conditioning in order to increase the benefits of a training session. Core conditioning and stability is also targeted and improved upon because your core is crucial to everyday activities in life. I concentrate on educating while training so that my clients know how and why they are training.
Describe your own workout program:I typically train five to six days a week. My training consists of cardiovascular training 4 days a week through teaching different methods of group fitness (kickboxing, boot camp, hi/low, step, etc.) and I weight train five to six days a week. I complete three sets of 12-18 repetitions of at least three to four different exercises for a particular muscle group to maintain lean muscle tissue. I also compete in recreational sports on weekends such as volleyball, softball, and soccer.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:I had a unique opportunity to work for 10 weeks in a cardiac rehabilitation unit in Nashville, Tennessee in the summer of 2006. I gained experience working with patients that had been through traumatic cardiac and pulmonary events. I tested and prescribed exercise routines for these special populations, which gives me the experiential background to work with low to moderate risk individuals living with pulmonary and/or cardiac disease as well as older adult and obese individuals.
