What is your training style:My training style is what fits the client. Some clients want to learn as much as possible in a session, so I may go a little slower and explain the exercises. Other clients want a fast paced challenging workout, so I adjust. What is most important to me is getting a client on a regular exercise program & progressing the client at his or her ability. Equipment that I like to use for my clients are: medicine balls, stability balls, dumbbells, body weight exercises, strength & cardio machines.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake people make when working out is not eating properly. I encourage all of my clients to eat foods that will enhance what they do in the gym. I believe that the client needs to enjoy what they eat as well as be healthy for them. So I find foods that are appealing to the client. I want this to be a lifestyle change that the client can live with. And the only way for this to be a lifestyle change is to find a enjoyable healthy lifestyle for the client.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:First I would meet with the client to determine their fitness level and health history. I would then determine their body composition using the Bod Pod. The Bod Pod is very useful because it shows how much fat the client is losing and how much lean weight the client is gaining. It also gives us a estimate of how many calories to consume per day. I would then determine how quickly the client wanted to lose weight and design the nutrition and exercise program around their goals.
