What is your training style:First and foremost I try to develop a relationship and a level of trust with my clients; this is fundamental for their success.
I try to help my client progress each and every session. To do this I need to be keenly attuned to how each client each day may act differently; physically, mentally and emotionally. My job is to see and act on these subtle changes when working with my clients. I can then challenge them to an appropriate level each exercise, each set and each repetition.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:I have been a successful military officer, corporate executive and consultant. I have been an athlete myself in a variety of sports which culminated at the professional level (football). I am also a parent of children that have are collegiate level athletes.I can work just as easily with senior executives as I can with young athletes. My experiences allow me to appreciate how everyone is different and has different needs. I understand the importance of fitness and where it fits into life.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:First of all education. The overweight client needs to understand the basics of nutrition, eating habits, cardio, resistance and flexibility training are all interdependent. I believe in the old Chinese Proverb "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life."
If they can learn how small changes can lead to big changes I feel they are better prepared for long term health.
